Reya’s latest single, ‘Kinda Like It’, is a fierce, dark track that allows the artist to place herself in the shoes of the villain. This is a gritty, passionate and unpredictable track, driven by subtle Latin beats and menacing acoustic guitar explorations and led by her multilingual vocal parts. She explains that the track was “written during a time when I felt like I constantly got wronged by a person, and I put up with it for too long. I wanted to envision myself doing the same bad things to them as they did to other people. However, my mom raised me well enough to only imagine giving out such bad karma through a song, which was good enough for me.” Her unique sound is influenced by her Chilean heritage, Norwegian birth and Spanish upbringing, with this melting pot of cultures resulting in a sound that effortlessly blends genres.
